Caden 2008

Caden was tough to get here. Sam and I went through four rounds of infertility treatment in order to have him. The first two were IUI, and the last two were IVF. We were unbelievably happy when we got the news from our nurse that the last IVF treatment worked! It was a miracle! Caden Bristol Hobbs was born on October 29, 2008 at 6:26 pm. He was 7 lbs. and 20 1/4 inches long. He came so fast that he was almost born on the side of the road, but luckily we (and our doctor) made it to the hospital just in time!

Since Caden was an in-vitro baby, we are lucky enough to have a picture of him as a little fertilized egg. :) He is one of these two.

We got to hear Caden's heartbeat at 6 weeks.

This is Caden in profile view at our ultrasound where we found out he was going to be a boy!

Our first family picture!

Poor guy looked like he was in a boxing match right after he was born. I didn't notice until I looked at the pictures later... at the time he looked just perfect to me!

This is my all time favorite Caden picture. He was so cute and smiley!

Coming Home

This was Caden's first room.

Since I couldn't paint our apartment, I tried to get some color in there with fabric covered cardboard. It looked cute... from a distance. :)

I made a quilt for Caden... it was my first one ever. It was definitely a learning experience, but I love it! I used minkee fabric and it is so soft and warm.

Caden came home on Halloween, so we went and bought him a little Halloween outfit.

Many naps were taken like this.

My little rag doll. The first few weeks he had a hard time staying awake for even a little bit.

We're so glad Mimi came to help for a while!

Staying warm after a bath.

Caden and Mimi.

Caden and Mommy. We've spent a lot of time in this rocker.

Our new little family.

My little Georgia Voters.

Caden's Aunt Ashley nicknamed him Calvin and got him a little Hobbs tiger. Caden and Hobbs were fast friends.

Caden loves his Mimi

Look at those cute little stick legs poking out.

Handsome Boy

He's always been a good car sleeper.

Yay! Aunt Haley came to see us all the way from Utah!

I love the little pink foot poking out from underneath him.

We went for many walks with this baby carrier. Sometimes those walks were just going in circles around the couch, but he loved it.

Caden would always lay on the left side of his head. For a while there he had quite the lopsided skull - it evened out eventually though. :)

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit for Thanksgiving and Caden's blessing!

He's a t.v. hog.

1 Month Old

Caden loves his Grandma.

He thinks Grandpa is pretty cool too.

Blessing Day!

Caden looked so cute in his little white sweater and pants.

Mimi and Popi came over for the big day!

Grandma and Grandpa were there too! All the way from Idaho!

Popi and Caden - they make a good pair.

Caden must really like these two - look at that smile!

Daddy and his boy.

A Cool Dude Outfit!

Most babies like to be snuggled in tight when they sleep. Caden always preferred to spread out.

Caden and Grandpa taking a snooze.

Caden gave lots of loves to his Grandma.

Cute Boys

My little Christmas baby

Family pics in front of the Christmas tree.

As you can tell, this was one of my favorite outfits. We have so many pictures of him in this little sweater...

Aunt Jenny got him this cool jailbird polo. Definitely another favorite.

Caden started watching BYU games at an early age.

Christmas in Birmingham

Mimi made this cute stocking for Caden. She finished it just in time too!

Stockings are one of our favorite things at Christmas!

Caden got so many presents... and he didn't even have a clue what was going on.

Cute Boy

Chillin' at Mimi's

He always had a good pair of lungs... that's for sure!

The little guy has about 10 layers of clothes on... and it doesn't even get that cold in Alabama!

Caden and Aunt Heather!

Taking a tubby in Mimi's bathroom sink. He thought it was pretty cool.

Caden and Aunt Ashley!

Aunt Kirsten made Caden this cool hooded towel. We love it!

Sam and his standard yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Boy that's a lot of candles! ;)
